There is a train service between Barcelona Airport and Sants Station. And from there you can catch the Metro straight to the hotel, without having to change. The total time for the journey from Barcelona Airport to Hotel Princesa Sofia is about 40 minutes. We shall now give you detailed directions for the whole journey:

Route A) Train and Metro

1) Train: Barcelona Airport - Sants Station: (20').- There is a train service (Line C2) running from Barcelona Airport to the city centre. You can't miss it.

There are trains to and from the airport every 30 minutes. On your way back to the airport, you can catch the train at Clot, Passeig de Gràcia or Barcelona Sants (Sants Station). The nearest and most convenient station for going to the airport from the hotel is Sants.

2) Metro: Sants Station - Hotel Princesa Sofia: (15') In Sants Station you go into the Metro (which is clearly signposted) and take Line 3 (green) in the direction of "Zona Universitària". It is just three stops to "Maria Cristina", which is where you get out. From the station to the hotel it is a pleasant 5-minute walk along Barcelona's emblematic Avinguda Diagonal. You can't miss it.

Route B) Aerobús and Metro

1) Aerobús: Barcelona Airport - Plaça Espanya. (25-30').- As well as the train and taxis, there is also a bus service (Aerobús) between Barcelona Airport and various points in the city. The Aerobús runs every 10 to 15 minutes and you can catch it outside any of the airport's three terminals.

2) Metro: Plaça Espanya - Hotel Princesa Sofia (20').- To get to Hotel Princesa Sofia, the best stop to get off at is Plaça Espanya and then catch the Metro (Line 3, green) in the direction of "Zona Universitària". From there it is five stops to "Maria Cristina", where you get out. From the station to the hotel it is a pleasant 5-minute walk along Barcelona's emblematic Avinguda Diagonal. You can't miss it.

Price of Aerobús ticket: €4.25 single and €7.30 return. You can only buy tickets on the bus. T-10 travel cards are not valid on these buses.

The first bus leaves the airport: Daily: at 6:00 am.
The last bus leaves the airport: Daily: at 1:00 am.

Transport tickets:
You need to buy a ticket to get about Barcelona on public transport:

- Single ticket: This ticket is valid for a single journey and costs €1.35.

- T-10*: This travel card is valid for 10 journeys anywhere on Barcelona's public transport network (train, bus and Metro) and costs €7.70.

* A T-10 travel card is the recommended option, as you can take advantage of it during your stay in Barcelona to get about easily on public transport. You can buy a T-10 card at any Metro station or at the entrance to the RENFE railway platform at Barcelona Airport.

Bus Station: 100 metres from the Av. Joan XXIII stop where you can catch buses 113 and L12. 200 metres away there is also a night bus stop (N12).

Train Station: The central train station is 3km away (Sants Station).
